The only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.

“Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.” – Steve Jobs, June 12, 2005

My Very 1st Product Enquiry

Posted by TheAchiever on 5 May 2006

Today I received my very 1st product enquiry email. Of course I was excited when I saw it and promptly type out my reply … before sending, I proof read my reply like it's gonna be sent to the Prime Minister, Agong, or Mr Bush.

This is a big milestone for me. I have NEVER received product enquiry for my OWN product (because I never have my own product before this I guess) … all the product enquiries that I had received before were my company's. This is a big difference, you know !

This product enquiry is for my supplimentary business – I need to earn money while I develop my main system.

This day will go down in my personal history. I am happy to share this with you.

My next milestone is to have my 1st paying customer.

OK… back to work. See ya !

Excitement I had never known exist

Posted by TheAchiever on 30 April 2006

You tell me … what kind of job or work can give you sooo much energy and excitement till you can’t sleep at night ? till your eyes are wide open at 1:30am even though the lights are off ? You roll left and right in your bed.

I tell you … the “job” is – being an entrepreneur.

It’s true. Because I am writing this at 1:30am. Because I had just experienced all that I had described above. I am so excited till I can’t sleep, till I had to switch the lights back on, switch my computer back on and write this entry.

Throughout my 4 years as a software engineer in 1 MNC and 1 software firm, I hadn’t had such a wonderful experience. Yes, I remember being happy about doing software engineering stuff – it was glamorous, it sounded glamorous, it was challenging, it was a high-tech job and it was paying me ok, but being happy and a little excitement is all that I had experienced.

The excitement in me now is a kind of excitement I had never known existed. I am so excited about being successful later on, so exited about sleeping in my new house, so excited about the public using my service…I am so excited about everything that is coming my way.

I am so excited because my future is so bright and wonderful and… exciting.

Oh sure, entrepreneurship does bring worry and fear that is, at times, overwhelming – but let’s not talk about those negative feelings for now. I just want to enjoy the excitement that I have now. Besides, it is these positive feelings and excitement that entrepreneurs look forward to every minute and second, not those negative ones.

I have sooo much to tell you – about Napoleon Hill’s visualization techniques, about his “transmute to monetary equivalent” techniques, about his “mastermind group” concepts, about his…oh… so much… so much.

I better climb back to bed now. If not, if any of my family members come out and see me typing frantically at this hour (2am), they will think I have gone crazy. But then, you need to be a little crazy to start and run a business, to be an entrepreneur, right ? Of course ! Serial entrepreneur Barry Moltz give this title for his book – “You need to be a little CRAZY – The truth about starting and growing your business.”
